Vincent Tan and Robert Kuok, so what? What about the everyday Chinese, Jui Meng slams Dr M

Vincent Tan and Robert Kuok, so what? What about the everyday Chinese, Jui Meng slams Dr M
PKR leaders slammed former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad for "rubbing salt into the wound" when he insisted that the New Economic Policy had benefited the Chinese, and then pointed to tycoons such as lottery-king Vincent Tan and sugar-king Robert Kuok.
"The average Malaysian Chinese survived and thrived in spite of Mahathir, the BN and the NEP, and not thanks to them or Vincent Tan or Robert Kuok. And these guys know it. As Francis Yeoh once said, even they had to give back 30% to the BN. But it is the ordinary Chinese youth who had to sweat and toil the extra mile just to be successful. Job opportunities are closed to them, so are places in schools and universities. Many have no choice but to go to Singapore and then be labelled as betrayers back in their homeland," PKR vice president Chua Jui Meng told Malaysia Chronicle.

Robert Kuok's son, Kuok Khoon Ean born in 1955 married Kuok Cheng Sui and holds Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Economics from University of Nottingham, England. His other son, Kuok Khoon Ho is the Chairman of the Kuok Brothers, born in 1951 and holds Bachelor of Commerce degree, from McGill University, Canada.
Robert Kuok's brother, Tan Sri Dato' Philip Kuok Hock Khee a Malaysian Ambassador to Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany, Yugoslavia, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemberg and Denmark was born on 18 May 1921 and attended the College of Agriculture, Serdang and later to the University of Malaya with a degree in Economics. Tan Sri Philip married Eileen Kuok and had two sons and two daughters, he died on 16 December 2003 and was awarded with Netherlands award of the Grand Cross of the Order of Orange Nassau, and decorated with Dato' Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (SPMJ), Dato' Paduka Mahkota Johor (DPMJ) and Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM).

UMNO Smear Campaign against Robert Kuok

Robert Kuok is a Malaysian who have spent billions on development in this country.  When Najib wanted the Chinese Businessman's share of business in this country, Robert Kuok gave in without protest and took his billions to China.  Today Robert Kuok is highly in demand and respected in China.  Other countries also want his expertise and money.  But in Malaysia, the UMNO Government is still jealous and envy of this particular man.  Why?  The answer is simple.  Robert Kuok is Chinese and he does not have to beg the Malaysian Government for help unlike all the Melayu millionaire and billionaire.

hahaha anyone can be as rich as robert kuok if they can get sole AP for sugar for the past 40 over years.. there's no need any special expertise to be rich like him..n for what UMNO government jealous of him??isn't UMNO government that gave him the sole AP for sugar that makes him a billionaire n richest men in Malaysia??

Kamal, yes Robert Kuok got the AP from the government because the latter did not know how to run the sugar industry then. But Robert Kuok never sold his APs to donkey. Plus Robert Kuok and his foundation has spearhead many charity projects for the people and even given billions to Mahathir each time the latter asked for donations and appeals. So how many Melayu millionaire and billionaire has given over RM9 billions and is still contributing to this country by giving employment. All the Melayu business are
about bail out.

Kamal, Robert Kuok thanked his lucky star, he managed to take his money out from this country and stop giving donation after donation to a corrupted government who never stop asking. In fact Robert gave more than what he profited from the sugar industry. How many millionaire and billionaire can you name who have given over 9 billion in cash to Mahathir Kutty, Pak Lah and Najib? Robert also helped five millionaire and two billionaire all from Malaysia when they lost in off shore.

true Malaysia legend, true son of Malaysia

success based on opportunity seeking, not by government subsidy/help, but still gave back to the country so that ppl of all races can benefit & the country can progress.

This is what you called 1Malaysia spirit. Not about coming up with rumors and lies

Aiyo. Lets not be racist Dian. Why do you have to use race to stress your point? What is your point anyway? Arent we all one Malaysia? We are not just Chinese, Malay, Indian etc, but we are all Malaysian. To think that the Malay, Malaysian government or UMNO is jealous of Robert Kuok is absurd. Robert became who he is because of the support of the government. Like Kamal said, he was enriched with the AP he received none other than the UMNO government. Not only that, his brother was made ambassador for Malaysia to various countries. Also, why would the Malay hate him? Even his son in law and grandchildren are Malays. Tan Sri Rashid Hussain of RHB bank was his son in law. None justify why the UMNO or the Malay would be jealous of him. Please stop playing politics lar. It is getting really annoying and silly seeing ignorant post and comments like this. Fully engrossed with dirty politics from start till finish. Ppl are not stupid anymore. We are well informed dei.
